At Yenidoğan Intensive Care Unit; total parenteral nutrition (total vascular feeding) applications, thoracic tube insertion (ventilator therapy), blood exchange, phototherapy (light therapy), percutaneous catheterization (thin vein pathway extending from the thin veins in the arms and legs) lung air leak therapy), ECO (heart ultrasound) per patient, USG (ultrasound for evaluation of brain and other internal organs), retinopathy examination (eye examinations of preterm infants).
In Yenidoğan ICU, advanced care is provided for babies born early from the 22nd gestational week, babies with respiratory complaints, babies swallowing meconium in their wombs, babies with high risk such as brain and other organ damage resulting from difficult births.
There are three separate sections: a premature infant with untreated premature infants and a newborn infant with a severe onset (15 incubators), an isolation section (8 rooms) in which patients from external centers and septic patients are observed, and a section where better infants with disease control are monitored (15 incubators) edited. Our neonatal intensive care unit has 38 incubators, 22 mechanical ventilators, 38 monitors, 12 phototherapy devices, blood gas appliances and TPN preparation unit.
Our hospital provides the necessary support to all newborn infants who need intensive care. In the light of up-to-date information, with modern medical equipment, babies are brought shortly to their families, providing the necessary resources for informing and educating their families. Our unit is designed to provide services to newborns who require the most severe and advanced care, and intensive care services are provided by 1 associate professor of neonatology and 1 specialist physician.
